MFCB's GLORIOUS 365 DAYS IN 2016 FINALE

Miller Family Christmas Blog (MFCB)
By Your MFCB Supporter, Jack Strap

First Sam the Eagles' GLORIOUS 3 Hours Muppet Vision 3D FINALE was cut to a minute and a half (see it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-1h7dAIxik and then hit the "Back" Button to return to the MFCB) and now I'm told the MFCB's GLORIOUS 365 DAYS IN 2016 FINALE has to be readable in 15 minutes, although I'll assume you all have taken the Evelyn Woodhead Speed Reading Course https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKP06aWPQhg.

So our GLORIOUS 365 DAYS IN 2016 FINALE is entitled "A Salute To All People, But Mostly the Miller Family".  To make it more fun for me (not sure about you?), I'm going to assign all of the Miller Family a Muppet Character and if you're not familiar with all the Muppets--you can check them all out @ https://www.google.com/search?q=muppets+characters&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
  • Glenn = Count von Count (Ac-counting joke--hahahahaha)
  • Karen = Abby Cadabby (who thought she was going to be Miss Piggy?) noting there really aren't that many Female Muppets, but that's a cool name
  • Britty = Prairie Dawn because she's artistic too
  • Andrew = Animal since he's a Drummer too
  • Bradley = Slimey the Worm because "Wormy" is one of his many nicknames
  • Ellie = Rosita since she meows bilingually in English and Spanish
  • And our newest edition Cassie = Elmo because she's a golden retriever cutie
  • The Bad News is that our beloved kitty Lola crossed the Rainbow Bridge in early 2016 to be with her beloved "Big Furry" Chandler, as well as Mindy and Comet.  Lola wouldn't want you be to sad about this so sing-along with her song to improve your mood https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LemG0cvc4oU
Let's start with Cassie (aka Elmo) who joined the Miller Family in October from DVGRR https://www.dvgrr.org/?gclid=CN6R0ZL7-9ACFUtYDQodj58DHQ (Note the Links may turn out to be your favorite MFCB things, but they don't count towards your 15 minutes to read this Blog).  She's an 8 year old female Golden who survived one of those cruel Puppy Mills and now deserved a loving family, so we adopted her.  She's a little skittish due to her past, but has been making GLORIOUS progress.

Rosita/Ellie (aka El Bell) meows "Tengo Hombre" loudly in the AM for those of you who took Spanish.  For those of you who didn't--google it yourself you "Perezoso".  She's a sweet girl whose very good at hide-and-seek and specializes in finding new places to curl up in for GLORIOUS naps.

Bradley (aka Slimey the Worm) is great at worming in to create "petting parties" along with Cassie and/or Ellie.  Bradley also has been called "Beany" or multiple variations of that (but not to be confused with the Muppet "Bean Bunny") and "Ragtime" (i.e. Hello My Baby, Hello My Honey, Hello My Ragtime Pal).  He's a little unpredictable (like Johnny Rodz--ask Reitzy), but has come a long way in 4 years here in York after being rescued from the streets of Baltimore.  We didn't know how he would do with Cassie, but he's turned out to be a GLORIOUS mentor dog for her.

Andrew/Animal still drums on occasion and teaches drum lessons to multiple students.  His day job is as an Applications Developer where he has about 2 years of experience.  He had to get security clearances for his latest job and thus can't tell us much about his work, lest he'd have to kill us (see http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/IdTellYouButThenIdHaveToKillYou).  In his spare time Andrew has become a GLORIOUS ballroom dancer to the point that his Regal Dance Club http://regaldanceclubs.com/ asked him to participate in a competition this year.  He also has developed a nice group of friends that do various things on a regular basis including him hosting parties in our finished basement, although "Barking Bradley" doesn't really approve of this.  Animal and Prairie Dawn both love everything Disney and have annually been going on Disney cruises together (at their own expense) for the past few years.

Prairie Dawn/Britty is a hard worker who has resided on her own in Lancaster the past few years and really likes it there.  Lancaster is much more than The Amish (although they're cool) and you can see for yourself at http://www.visitlancastercity.com/attractions-activities/.  She utilizes her GLORIOUS Masters in Psychology in her day job at Philhaven which is a behavioral healthcare organization offering a continuum of compassionate, caring services for children, adolescents, adults and older adults in south central Pennsylvania and is now owned by WellSpan Health.  By night (2 or 3 nights/week) she waitresses at The Waterfront (her tip monies are usually good) which you can check-out at http://thewaterfrontlancaster.com/, but better yet get up off your couch and see it live and in color.

Abby Cadabby/Karen is very creative and turned a hobby into a business in GLORIOUS fashion in 2016--browse her Ruby Hearts Craft shop on-line at https://www.etsy.com/shop/RubyHeartCrafts.  Count von Count/Glenn has been home a lot more in 2016 (more on that later) and has noted how hard and passionately she works.  Abby/Karen is also our travel planner and did a great job with Miller Family vacation in Hilton Head, Abby/Count trip to Myrtle Beach, 31st Anniversary on Tybee Island in GA, and long weekend with "The Fam" in Disney World.  She also enjoys being a Fan live at West York and Wilson basketball and football games, as well as for Penn State football and Villanova basketball.  Regarding the latter--sing along for the Champions at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04854XqcfCY.

Count von Count/Glenn had a challenging year, although don't feel sorry for him as he did get to enjoy all the aforementioned Miller Family characters and events.  In addition his beloved We Are! Penn State! Nittany Lions led by J-Frank came out of nowhere to reel off 9 consecutive victories (another sing along for you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rY0WxgSXdEE) and are Da Champions of the toughest division and best conference in college football, as well as  defeating the Ohio State Bucknuts.  Yet these people http://www.collegefootballplayoff.com/selection-committee kept them out of the Final 4, although it's really cool that they are going to the Rose Bowl to play USC in their 2016 Season FINALE (and you can play Rose Bowl Squares--sign up now).

The Count's challenge was on the business side when after a GLORIOUS 8 year (365 DAYS per year) run as VP Finance for FES Systems--the German Parent Co. GEA's global restructuring eliminated his position (and many-many others).  Thus after taking a severance package he's been working hard (e.g. has driven over 7000 miles in 2016) looking for his next Finance Leader opportunity.  Many people getting this MFCB have helped as have many-many-many others who will be Thanked with an upcoming LinkedIn story @ https://www.linkedin.com/in/glenn-miller-632.

We hope you enjoyed the MFCB's GLORIOUS 365 DAYS IN 2016 FINALE and if all that wasn't sweet enough for you then Abby Cadabby/Karen wants to leave you with this baked goods recipe https://www.pinterest/Polar Bear Paws
