TOP 2010 LIST
The Miller Family Christmas Blog (MFCB) brings to you in the comfort of your own home (unless you have a crackberry-like device), our TOP 2010 LIST:
#2010: Glenn attended a roll'in & rock'in George Thorogood Concert at the Sovereign Performing Arts Center with Lipper, the Poletti's, and Kathy Werley-Wong (reference #2009) & her gold-digging husband Harry (see #1000)
#2009: Kathy "Dubya-Dubya" replaced "Jesus" as the Finance Director at the Bollman Hat Co. and at our pre-Concert dinner at the GNA Ristorante (that's Italian for Restaurant) acknowledged that she had "big sandals to fill"
For continuity (which we know is very important to you our valued MFCB Readers), we'll skip right to # 1000:
#1000: Harry Wong's Christmas Letter Theme this year was "A Picture is Worth a 1000 Words" which I Wikipedia'd and found it isn't clear who coined that phrase, but it could have been either Fred R. Barnyard, Confucius, or Napoleon Bonaparte (you can't make this stuff up)
#999: Glenn went out for some brewski's at the Railroad House with Fred R. Barnyard, Confucius, and Napoleon Bonaparte (you can make that stuff up, but I imagine that it would have been epic)
#998: Barnyard-Confucius-Bonaparte-Poletti (collectively known as the BCBP) weren't there but Glenn did go to the Railroad House on Halloween weekend with Lipper, Reitzy, Mighty, and the Wojo's to watch JoePa/PSU outwit/outlast/outplay Richy-Rod/Michigan
#997: The "Halloweener" at the Railroad House that night dressed as MC Hammer was incessantly serenaded with his imitatee's song "Can't Touch This" (or Lip's version: Can't Top This) by our PSU Crew
#996: The Railroad House was also the site of Lipper's 50th Birthday Surprise Party to which he was a very late arriver, so we amused ourselves while waiting by yelling "Surprise Lipper!!!" to everyone who came through the door in the interim
#995: Lip's 50th B-Day present was a Flat Lip Mini-Me and Brother Craiger's 50th B-Day present was black socks which he beaned party attendees with just like in the old days at Penn State. Also turning the Big 5-0 this year was Chucky Boy Barbera who is the reigning TCFL Champion of the World and defends that Fantasy Football Title this weekend vs. Reitzy's DiBros.
#994: Speaking of Flat & Penn State, "Flat Ross Went Back to College" (Friend "Flat Ross" on Facebook for related pictures) with our PSU Road Trip Crew and made Happy Valley happier during his 50th Birthday weekend which amongst other things (remember what happens in Happy Valley, stays in Happy Valley) included a win over Temple
#993: That win over Temple was followed a few weeks later by another weekend trip that included (amongst other things) an embarrassing loss to the Illini attended by the Miller Brothers including Jay all the way from Illinois with his family/friends
#992: While sitting in a post-game Rt. 322 traffic jam heading out of State College, Josh Baird-Miller from IL utilized a hand-held device to search & find that Carl William Swanger invented those road safety dots (Moral: when you're bored with a crackberry-like device, you can learn something new everyday)
Again for continuity & to avoid boring you (what, it's too late for that?), we'll now go directly to # 400 (and not Pass Go & Collect $200):
#400: Thanks to Kurtzy & Guido for PSU Tailgate hospitality before Glenn & Reitzy saw one of the great PSU comebacks from 21 points down to beat Northwestern for Joe Paterno's Historic 400th Victory
#399: Speaking of Great Comebacks, the Eagles win last week over the Giants was unbelievable, although it made Glenn's boss (not Karen, she's Boss with a capital "B") John Ansbro unhappy
#398: Also a Yankees fan (like Sammel, Poletti & Mighty), boss John was also upset by Cliff Lee spurning his team for my Mom's Phillies
#397: Despite boss John's aforementioned set-backs, he Hosted a very enjoyable "offsite meeting" for his Team which culminated with a roaring rendition of Happy Birthday to Gary Hensel's Wife on N.George St. in York
#396: I know, you're tired of hearing about Glenn, and frankly I'm tired of typing about him so we'll move on
#395: In April, Andrew performed admirably for Wilson at the Wildwood Indoor Drumline Show with his La Familia (English translation: The Family) looking on & otherwise enjoying the nicest weather we've seen there in the 3 years we've been attending
#394: La Familia (Mom, Dad & Britty) also saw Andrew march with the Wilson Band in Disney's Magic Kingdom Parade
#393: In addition to enjoying Disney and Universal Studios, Dad & Britty went on a Zip-Lining Tour and she was the star of our class
#392: The Miller Family Vacation (MFV) was in the Outer Banks (OBX) where we were chill'in out max'in relax'in all cool (like The Fresh Price)
#391: Britty (Brittany for short) drives the long ride back from the OBX on Father's Day which was an appreciated gift
#390: Andrew joined Reading's Ringgold Band whose History dates back to 1852 (click that hyper-link to learn more)
#389: Karen scribbled down calendar notes for me for this TOP 2010 LIST, including one that clearly looks like "BP", so after pondering how the Miller Family was involved in the Oil Spill, I asked her & she said it was "3P"
#388: The 3P (Poletti Pool Party) is always a date we circle on our Miller Family Calendar (note the MFC is skillfully administered by Karen) and like Dad--Britty really likes playing in the big 3P Volleyball match
#387: The Poletti's were also again the Captains of our Relay for Life Team whose members won many RfL events while supporting this worthy cause, although our run of Volleyball Titles was only stopped by them discontinuing that event
#386: Segue here goes back to #388 as Britty isn't just a 3P Volleyballer, but also started Grad School Psychology at Millersville this year after a successful under-grad run at Albright (alternately AllBritt)
#385: Andrew was accepted into Millersville Honors College and when he starts there in the Fall of 2011, he may be rooming with Britty
#384: That means Karen & Glenn will then be empty-nesting, although they'll still have a lot of company with "Baby" Lola, "Little Skinny" Ellie, and "Big Furry" Chandler
Continuity as well as sanity tells me we need to skip to #25:
#25: Karen & Glenn's 25th Wedding Anniversary (WOW!)
#24: Karen & Glenn have been enjoying going to Wilson Football games for several years where Karen is known as the "#1 Fan" (No, I'm not going to skip to #1 quite yet) with our most favorite players having been Britty & Andrew performing with the Wilson Band
#23: We also really enjoy attending Wilson Basketball Games with the Reitz's and speaking of hoops of a much older variety--Hills Hoops Inc. (HHI) celebrated their 18th Anniversary at which time they were featured in a September 6 story in the Reading Eagle "A Lifetime Bond Through Hoops", so we'll make a small jump (like HHIers) to #18
#18: Karen continues teaching 1st graders reading at Wilson's West Wyomissing and is also a successful Coach in their "Fast ForWord Program" which as defined by Wikipedia is a family of educational software products intended to enhance cognitive skills of children, especially focusing on "phonological awareness" (look that up yourself) and strengthening their skills of memory, attention, processing rate, and sequencing
#17: More recently, Britty became a Fast ForWord Coach at Wilson's Cornwall Terrace, as well as continuing to earn money as a Hostess at Viva Restaurant
#16: Andrew earns money by giving drum lessons to several kids
#15: Andrew also has been getting drum lessons which paid off this year when he was selected to the County & District Bands
Andrew is busy with a number of aforementioned activities, so we got him a Ford Escape which increases our # of Miller Family Cars (MFC's) to (4) and for your benefit & mine allows me to go to #4:
#4: After the Final 4 of March Madness, the Miller Family stood victorious in our Relay for Life Pool
#3: {Jeopardy Music} What is the Miller Family's number of pets Alex Trebec
#2: From here forward (or is backward since that's the way we're counting?), it's all about "You All" (threw that in for our southern MFCB Fans)
And #1 on our TOP 2010 List is {Drum Roll please, Andrew}, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL & TO ALL A HAPPY NEW 2011 YEAR!!!!!!!
But that's not all, as an added bonus to our MFCB Subscribers, our TOP 2010 Pictorial:
